O’Neal won the award in 2000 with Los Angeles before a well-publicized rift with Bryant led the Lakers to split the pair up. Asked who he liked in the MVP race, though, O’Neal said, “The Kobester. He’s an assassin.”

So what?. The whole Shaq vs. Kobe things is way behind them. They have both grown up and have respect for each others game. People need to get over the whole Kobe vs. Shaq. Whats more exciting is Kobe vs. LeBron.

Well Kobe is right there, Kevin Garnett ...and Tim Duncan to a lesser extent !
Man you guys give Shaq too much credit. Let's see he just happens to say this right after the Celtics (w/ Garnett also being a MVP contender) whipped up on him and his boys.

If you don't think that wasn't just an intentional cheap insult becaue they got owned, I really don't know what to tell you. He doesn't even mention Garnett's name in the entire interview.
