Thats more ignorant of a question, than saying that Chris Paul is the clear cut MVP. For starters, Bryant once again played every game this season, even after tearing a ligament in his pinky on his shooting hand. Bynum only played 35 games this season, and Gasol 27. (Their is 82 games in a season incase you didn't know). Kobe led the league in scoring, he also averaged around 6 assists per game, contrary to his ball hog image, he was also 5th in the league in steals. Not taking anything away from Chris Paul, but Kobe has had more of an impact this year, while playing through an injury on his shooting hand. Chris Paul, did led the league in assists and steals, while at the same time scoring 21 points a game, but the Hornets never really had any key injuries this year. One thing is for sure Hornets v Lakers will be extremely entertaining

Individually Paul doesn't even stand a chance vs Kobe's skills

Team-wise, Paul's team isn't better either, so how can you justify giving it to him?

Hornets were the 4th seed for about half a season before David West, Paul and Peja all got injured, so it's not a surprise they are 2nd seed, well maybe a little.

BUT, Lakers were leading the West even before the Gasol trade. And why are people blaming Kobe for having better teammates? Jordon didn't get out of the 1st round in his first 4 years, and then Scottie and Phil came, and the rest is histroy.

That's why. Paul needs the team around him. Without them, they fall apart.

On top of that, at least half of CP3's assists come off of alley oop or david west JUMP SHOTS some do come off open layups where he has to drive and kick or something, but most don't

Kobe has missed not one game all season. He is playing with a dislocated right pinky and a bad ankle. Through that he beat the Mavs at home w/out PAU or BYNUM. He ENDED THE JAZZ' 19 GAME HOME WIN STREAK WHERE THEY HAD ONLY LOST 3 ALL SEASON. ALL with a DISLOCATED RIGHT PINKY AND NO PAU NO BYNUM. All in all Pau Gasol only played 25 games with the Lakers.

Bynum only played 35 games this season because of injury. NEVER TOGETHER

First of all stats don't mean everything.

Second David West is playing like a milder version of Charles Barkley this season and w/out him they would be in big trouble.

Thrid The Hornets only beat the Lakers when We don't have Pau or Bynum Starting or at all. When they do have one of them starting or at all, 30 pt. BLOWOUT B*TCH.

Fourth, If you wanna talk stats, Kobe averages more points and more rebs.

Fifth, I know the MVP is suppose to be a regualr season award but cmon did Dirk really deserve the MVP after what happened last year? The Lakers are going to Get to the Finals and you can BANK on that, the Hornets can't hang with the 30 PT BLOWOUT Lakers in a 30 PT BLOWOUT best of 7. 30 PT BLOWOUT.

Last year David Westmissed 30 games and Peja only played in 13 games the whole season. And the hornets were 39-43. Do you really think that CP3 success is all his own? while Kobe has beaten the Mavs and Jazz all by HIMSELF and INJURED.

paul didnt do anything better than bryant did this season except average more assists...

kobes team had a better record, higher seed, beat the hornets in the regular season, higher ppg. and the lakers averaged more apg. pauls achievements were on a more individual level, and kobes were on a more team level... kobes got more ppg in the playoffs. did u forget his 49point 10 assist game? lakers havent even lost a game in the playoffs yet...
IT doesnt matter if he have a carrer season..then BRon should be the MVP.......but it doesnt work like that..

I say Chris Paul, because without him where do the Hornets go??? The Lakers would still be a decent team without Kobe, but the Hornets would be trash without CP3.
